How it works

Smart packing, real-time rates

At checkout, the plugin calls the Teamdock packer microservice to figure out the optimal pallet layout โ€” then returns the correct shipping cost instantly.

01

Products are measured

Each item in the cart has dimensions (Lร—Wร—H) and weight set in WooCommerce. The plugin reads these automatically.

02

Packer optimises the load

The Teamdock packer microservice runs a 3D bin-packing algorithm across all enabled pallet types and finds the cheapest configuration.

03

Rate shown at checkout

The calculated shipping cost is returned to WooCommerce in milliseconds and displayed to the customer on the checkout page.

At checkout

Your customer sees the pallet, not just a price

The rate comes with a 3D loading plan of their own order, drawn right under the shipping options. A price people can see the reason for is a price they don't email you about.

  • The cheapest pallet wins

This 19-item order fits one block pallet for โ‚ฌ95 โ€” two Euro pallets would have cost โ‚ฌ170. The packer tries every pallet type you enable.

  • Height, weight and fill at a glance

Footprint, used height against your maximum, load weight and fill rate, per pallet.

  • Every box is inspectable

Hover a box to see the product, its size and weight, and where it sits in the stack.

The plugin's 3D loading plan filling up box by box: a 19-item order packed onto one 120 ร— 100 cm block pallet, ending at 120 of 180 cm height used, 193.6 kg, 46% filled, with a colour legend per product.
A sample order, packed by the real engine and drawn by the plugin itself.

Automatic cost optimisation

The packer finds the minimum number of pallets needed โ€” reducing your shipping costs and preventing under-quoting on large orders.

Per-zone configuration

Add one shipping method instance per WooCommerce shipping zone. Set different base fees and per-pallet rates for domestic vs. international shipments.

Custom pallet types

Beyond Euro, Half and Block โ€” define your own pallet dimensions and weight limits. Useful for specialist carriers or non-standard warehouse setups.

Fallback for missing dimensions

Products without dimensions set are assumed to be 10ร—10ร—10 cm โ€” so checkout never breaks even if your catalogue is incomplete.

Works on your own hosting too

On a Teamdock workspace the plugin is already active โ€” nothing to install. Running WooCommerce elsewhere? Download it from your workspace, paste an API key, and you are done.

Maintained by Teamdock

On Teamdock hosting, updates ship automatically with every release. On your own hosting we send you the new version โ€” the packing engine itself is ours to keep current, and it runs on our servers.

Setup

Up and running in 2 minutes

The plugin is already active on your workspace โ€” just wire it up to your shipping zones.

  1. 1

    Set product dimensions

In WooCommerce โ†’ Products, open each product and fill in the Shipping tab: weight (kg) and dimensions (cm). Products with no dimensions fall back to 10ร—10ร—10 cm.

  2. 2

    Create a shipping zone

Go to WooCommerce โ†’ Settings โ†’ Shipping โ†’ Add shipping zone. Set the zone regions (e.g. Netherlands), then click Add shipping method and choose Pallet shipping (Teamdock).

  3. 3

    Configure the method

Set your base fee (e.g. โ‚ฌ50) and per-pallet rate (e.g. โ‚ฌ85). Enable the pallet types you support. Save.

  4. 4

    Test at checkout

Add a large product to your cart and go to checkout. The pallet rate should appear automatically in the shipping options.

Running WooCommerce on your own hosting?

Install the plugin on any WordPress site. It calls our packing service over HTTPS, so your store gets the same rates as a Teamdock workspace โ€” nothing about your catalogue moves anywhere.

Only need pallet rates, without a workspace? Get in touch and we will send you the plugin with an API key.

You will need an API key

The plugin talks to our packing service, so it needs a key to authenticate โ€” without one it installs fine but returns no rates. Contact us and we will issue one for your store.

Your products' dimensions, weights, SKUs and quantities are sent to our service to calculate a rate. No customer names, addresses, or order totals ever leave your store. See the privacy policy for what we keep and for how long.

Pallet Shipping included on every plan

No extra plugin licence, no separate billing. It ships pre-installed on every Teamdock workspace.
